Staff Honored by United Hospital Fund
MJHS Health System is thrilled to announce that Medeya Machavariani, RN, BSN, senior vice president of clinical services for SNP & MLTC at Elderplan/HomeFirst and Stacey Fanelli, PMHNP BC, RN, CHPN, LCSW R, ACHP SW, assistant vice president of clinical practice at MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care, were honored by United Hospital Fund at their annual Tribute to Excellence in Health Care event.
In midtown Manhattan, Medeya and Stacey joined other honorees from 68 participating hospital systems, long-term care facilities, home care organizations, independent practice associations and federally qualified health centers from across the greater New York metropolitan region in being honored for their, “extraordinary personal leadership to improve quality of care, patient safety, and patient experience.”
Meet this year’s remarkable honorees:

Medeya Machavariani, RN, BSN, senior vice president of clinical services for SNP & MLTC at Elderplan/HomeFirst, demonstrates exemplary leadership, overseeing more than 520 nurses, social workers and care coordinators. From her unwavering member-centered approach to deep engagement in the rapidly evolving health care landscape, Medeya is a visionary leader, a role model to staff and tireless advocate for our members.

Stacey Fanelli, PMHNP BC, RN, CHPN, LCSW R, ACHP SW, assistant vice president of clinical practice, plays a pivotal role in developing MJHS Hospice and Palliative Care social work and nursing teams. She leads quality initiatives that strengthen communication within interdisciplinary teams and during family meetings – improving the patient, caregiver and staff experience. Her unique combination of clinical nursing expertise and social work insight has further shaped our compassionate, whole model of care.
