NORC Supportive Service Programs

Supporting older adults living in Manhattan with health care, social services, and recreational activities that foster community and enable them to age in place safely.

Helping Our Community Age in Place

A Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) is a building or group of buildings in a neighborhood where many older adults reside. These communities develop naturally as residents age in place rather than moving to traditional senior housing.

MJHS Isabella supports three NORCs in Northern Manhattan:

Funded by city and state contracts, our NORC programs help adults 60+ successfully age in place by providing health care, social services, and recreational activities in a supportive community environment. Each NORC program serves specific buildings within a designated area, and we collaborate with internal and external organizations to create a strong mutual support system for older adults.

There is no cost to join, and there are no income requirements.
