End of Life Care
Receive compassionate end-of-life care that ensures comfort, dignity, and support for you and your family.
What Is End-of-Life Care?
End-of-life care is specialized support for those in their final months, prioritizing comfort and quality of life. If your loved one has a prognosis of six months or less, and is no longer receiving curative treatments, we can provide end-of-life care at one of our skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, hospitals across NYC or at home. We are also here to guide and support you and your family during this difficult time.
Compassionate Support for Patients and Families
When you or a loved one is at the end of life, compassionate, specialized support can make all the difference. Our hospice and palliative care programs provide comfort, uphold dignity, and address each person’s unique needs while offering guidance and support for their loved ones. If you or your loved one is a resident at one of our skilled nursing centers, we provide comprehensive end-of-life care through our sister agency, MJHS Hospice, a Joint Commission-certified, not-for-profit hospice program..
Your loved one will receive care from an interdisciplinary team that includes:
- Physicians and nurses specializing in end-of-life care.
- Social workers offering guidance and emotional support to residents and families.
- Creative art therapists using music and art to engage residents and help family members express complex emotions.
- Pastoral care providers from various faiths offer spiritual guidance and comfort.
- Trained volunteers providing companionship and additional support.
- Bereavement and grief counselors offering individual and group support for 13 months after the passing of a loved one.
Specialized End-of-Life Care May Include:
- Pain and Symptom Management: Expert care to relieve discomfort and improve quality of life.
- Emotional and Psychological Support: Counseling for both your loved one and your family to navigate the challenges of end-of-life care.
- Spiritual Care: On-site chaplains and spiritual counselors provide guidance and comfort, regardless of faith or belief.
