Nadine Ferguson Tapped to Become MJHS Chief Human Resources Officer

NEW YORK— MJHS Health System announced today that it has selected Nadine Ferguson, currently VP, Service and Operational Excellence at MJHS Health Plans (Elderplan/HomeFirst), to assume the role of MJHS Chief Human Resources Officer on January 1, 2022. Ferguson has been with the organization since 2013 and brings extensive experience in the field of learning and development as well as staff retention and advancement. Her promotion will follow the planned retirement of Susan Bornstein at the end of this year.

Ferguson joined the MJHS family in 2013 as Director of Medicare Advantage Product. She was promoted to Director of Learning and Development in 2014 and then AVP, Services Operations and Learning in 2015. In 2021, she was promoted to VP, Service and Operational Excellence, the position she currently holds. She is also a member of the MJHS Health System Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Core Leadership Team.

Before MJHS, Ferguson spent seven years at VNSNY, and prior to that, six years at the National Kidney Foundation. She holds a Master of Science in Health Services Management and Policy from the New School University, Robert J. Milano Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy and holds certificates from Cornell University in Human Resources Management and Services as well as Advanced Diversity and Inclusion.

Bornstein joined MJHS in 2001 as an HR Consultant and rose to Chief Human Resources Officer in 2016. “During her twenty year tenure with the organization, Susan has overseen the automation of HR systems, the launch of the MJHS.jobs career site, and helped standardize HR operations and practices through numerous mergers and acquisitions including Jacob Perlow Hospice, Presbyterian Home Care along with Menorah and Isabella Centers, to name just a few. We thank Susan for her unwavering commitment and service to the organization,” said Wagner.
